Paint the Pavement is September 6

Paint the Pavement is a Saint Paul city initiative to encourage neighbors to gather, organize, design, and install an approved mural on a neighborhood street. In turning an anonymous space into a claimed space (an endeavor called "placemaking"), social connections are formed, communities strengthened, and everyday goals are realized, including traffic calming, increased livability, and lower crime rates.

Our Midway neighborhood around the intersection of Van Buren Avenue and Pascal Street is the site of the longest Paint the Pavement project in Saint Paul. Originally painted in 2006 (and repainted several times over the years), it's now once again in need of a refresh.

Join us on Saturday, September 6, at 10 a.m. to celebrate our community and beautify our streets by painting! If you have questions, please reach out to John Levin at jlstpaul@gmail.com or Luna GebbenGreen at gebbengreen@gmail.com. If necessary, a rain date is scheduled for September 13.
