Marking the start of the 172nd academic year, President Mayme Hostetter challenged students to embrace ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø’s mission of leadership, scholarship and service during the 2026 Convocation and Matriculation ceremony.

ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø received a $20,000 NetVUE professional development award to support faculty and staff integrate vocational reflection and career competencies into their curriculum. The initiative will help students connect their values, interests and experiences into meaningful career pathways.

Mary Jensen has been promoted to chief operating officer at ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø. In her new role, Dr. Jensen is President Mayme Hostetter’s primary operational partner, overseeing undergraduate admission, graduate admission and advising, financial aid, marketing and communications, human resources and information technology services. Jensen assumed her new position on July 1.

ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø has released its Spring 2026 dean’s list. This recognition highlights the continued dedication and commitment of our students to academic excellence.

ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø has elected five new members to its Board of Trustees: Milpha Blamo MNM ’18, Mike Max ’87, Richele Hansey Messick ’03, Joe Sathe ’13 and Warren Watson.

ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø students took part in a May term in the Galápagos Islands, where they supported research on giant tortoises, studied microplastics and explored sustainability through hands-on learning at the Charles Darwin Research Station.

ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø’s 2026 Commencement on May 9 honored 530 graduates, including many earning Latin honors, first-generation students, and students of color.

ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø honored first-generation seniors on April 28 with a pinning ceremony, recognizing students who are the first in their families to earn a four-year degree.
